What is zine zone?
Zine Zone is an art convention run by Sheridan students, for Sheridan students! Vendors can sell any self-made goods that they would like: zines, prints, stickers, comics, pins, patches, ceramics, glass, sculptures, shirts, sweaters, socks, pants, embroidery, and more! The sky is the limit!
When is zine zone?
Zine Zone runs once every semester. Zine Zone will be returning to Sheridan on Friday March 7th, 2024, and is split into two times; 11:00AM-2:00PM & 3:00PM-6:00PM.
Where is zine zone?
Zine Zone will be held in The Learning Commons, right outside of the Library at the Sheridan Trafalgar campus in Oakville! The Learning Commons space is the largest, most available space to accommodate Zine Zone. Please be aware that the tables/seating in this space can be awkward to navigate. We are asking all vendors and visitors to be courteous when navigating this event!
Who can sell?
Vendors must be current Sheridan FAAD students. Unfortunately, no alumni or outside vendors will be allowed to table at this event. FAAD students are invited to apply to sell at Zine Zone on a first come, first serve basis.
Who can come?
Anyone from any program or school is allowed to visit and buy from Zine Zone!
can i table for the full six hours?
No, vendors are not able to table for the full six hours. The 2 time slots exist to accommodate class schedules. Any available spots will be given to vendors on the waitlist. If you are caught attempting to bypass these rules, you will have a strike marked against you. Repeated offences will result in a permanent ban from tabling at Zine Zone
how many vendors will be accepted?
Zine Zone is currently able to accommodate 64 Groups/Vendors per time slot. Applications will be first come first serve. Any additional applications beyond this cap will be put on a waitlist.
What if i get waitlisted?
Unfortunately, the waitlist is not a guaranteed spot. But do not worry. applicants on the waitlist will be contacted based on their availability if a spot opens up.
how do groups work?
We ask that vendors sign up in groups of 2-5 and share a table with their friends! This allows more students to participate in Zine Zone! If you are a solo vendor, you may be allotted a smaller table section, unless you have a very large quantity of stock to sell!Additionally, please only have one member of your group fill out the application form. This person will act as the Primary Contact for your group, and all correspondence will be directed through them.
do i have to submit a portfolio?
No, vendors do not need to submit any photos of their work. Zine Zone is first come, first serve—with no additional criteria. We do ask for a list of stock on the application form for scheduling reasons. Vendors with a large quantity of stock will be allotted a larger table section to accommodate!
i sent in my application, will i receive a confirmation email?
Confirmation emails will be sent out within 1-2 weeks! We have to filter through 100+ applications before we can send out the first wave of emails - so please be patient with us!
how does tabling work?
Groups will be allotted a section of a table in the Learning Commons. You can bring a tablecloth, table setup, stands, decorations, anything as long as it is not too big. It can be tall, just not too wide! There will be 2 seats max per table. If you have additional Co-Vendors, they will have to stand or sit near your table. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
is there a tabling fee?
Nope! Tabling at Zine Zone is absolutely free of charge!
who will be handling the money?
Vendors at Zine Zone are 100% responsible for their funds and transactions. We recommend that vendors bring a small amount of cash or coins to act as change. Card readers such as Squares are allowed, but the Zine Zone Crew is not responsible for any mishandling or misplacement of funds.
What If I Don’t Have That Much Inventory?
No worries! If you feel you do nott have enough inventory to sell independently, you can pair up with a friend or other vendors and apply together, or you will be allotted a smaller table size! We highly recommend visiting the Learning Commons before the event to gauge how much space you may need!
how do i contact the zine zone crew?
All communication and direct inquiries with the Zine Zone Crew is handled through our email - [email protected].Please do not DM us on Instagram or Twitter.
